In September 2016, I had a phone call scheduled with one of my great friends from work, Noe. We were calling just to chat and catch up, and by the end of the conversation, I was asking if I could seriously come visit her in the PNW (Pacific NorthWest for those who, like me, did not know what that stood for.) After cautioning her multiple times that I was serious about this request, she repeatedly told me it was great if I came, and so, I did!
We had the absolute best weekend exploring Oregon and Washington. We hit up the Portland spots such as Voodoo Donuts and Pearl Street and spent a day hiking in the woods of Oregon. I fell in love with Seattle, but how can you not?? We explored the Public Market, downtown, Gasworks Park, University of Washington, and Capital Hill.
The best part of these trips though are the people you spend them with. Noe is kind, generous, thoughtful, and hilarious. She keeps it REAL and I always describe her to my friends as “the bad-ass.” She is fierce and is not afraid to speak her mind and say what needs to be set right. I admire her greatly for her drive and passion and deep love for her friends. I am so grateful I had this time with her in her place.
